House Concert UpdateArticles
Just want to give you a quick update on the house concert run for 2012 and a big thanks to those of you who’ve agreed to host.
Here are the cities/states we have so far:
Wisconsin
Seattle Washington
Olympia Washington
SF Bay Area
Los Angeles California
Colorado Springs
Las Vegas
Austin Texas
San Antonio Texas
I’m still looking to fill more states up so here’s the basic scoop:
If you have a space or venue that you can host, I’ll come and do a solo gig for you.
All you need to do is get a minimum of 30 people and we’ll discuss a “donation” to cover the expenses of fuel, food...

Next Step..pre recordingMusic
Okay, so I promised to keep letting you hear these songs as they progressed. This is "Mercury in the Water" which I played for you in a previous post. The original version was a simple recording the day I wrote it with Sarah Majors.
This is the next step before we actually record it for the new record. I made a demo in the studio today to try and shape it up a little so the band will have an idea of the direction the song is heading.
Next step, the real thing! Let me know what you...

CricketsBlogging
(or, Silence)

Silence was a constant companion and it was through it that we were able to go out among our own and share a common truth and existence. This was perfectly accepted and an intrinsic part of the deal.
Silence, isn’t a popular topic in our society; especially when referring to the contemplative, soul searching, middle of the night, tugging at your gut type of silence. The kind that hits when no one is around, when...

Rick BraggLatest News
This in today from one of the main inspirations behind Rube:
"Matt King writes and sings songs that are so achingly true to life that they make you want to cry, or ball up your fists, or burn something down. He writes and sings not in silly cliches about a South that no longer is, but about the scourges of my modern South, about meth and layoffs and men and women grabbing for their last hope. And somehow, it makes it a joy to hear. "

An Experiment…kindaMusic
I want to start sharing with you some new songs as they begin forming. I'll be doing a new record with Ray Wylie Hubbard this year and want to let you hear these in their infant guitar/vocal forms.
Some will make it, others won't, but it'll give you a laugh, perhaps offend or maybe you can help us vote on the best ones for the record.
Stay tuned, I'll be posting...
